CAREER MANAGEMENT/CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

A Career Management/Development Process is the path or plan taken to expand one’s capabilities within his/her chosen profession or occupation.  This takes place through a series of activities that leads to a level of excellence that increases the individual's value to the organization and oneself.

We provide a 3- Phase approach which introduces at Phase I, the overall concepts of Career Management/Career Development.  Phase II provides various personal Assessments which assist an individual in gathering information about oneself as well as a Skill/Competency Assessment which assists an individual in determining what the organization expects of him/her.  Phase III brings the process altogether in a Career Plan which looks at where the interests of the employee lie as well as specific skill/competency learning tactics to help him/her achieve those goals.

Employee: The employee's role is to drive self-assessment, planning, and follow-through on agreed-upon development activities based on the alignment of the employee's business interests, skills, and knowledge with the organization’s business needs.

Manager: The manager's role is to assist by coaching, providing perspective and explaining the organization’s needs and business priorities. During career management discussions, the manager's role is to support employee efforts to reach his/her full potential at the organization.

The Organization: The organization’s role is to support the partnership between employees and managers by creating an environment in which all employees can do their best work. The organization must provide tools, resources and structures that support the Career Management/Development Process.
